Fair Game, led by Prof. Naomi Sykes at the University of Exeter, with a host of national and regional partners; is a project that is focused on valuing the bio-cultural heritage of fallow deer and their venison - for food security, sustainable woodlands, and biodiversity. The project worked alongside the British Deer Society, the National Trust, FareShare, the Felix Project, and more. It won the Archaeology and Sustainability Award in 2024.
